United Kingdom | Tackling Air Pollution and Climate Change Together for Health

Source: UK Health Alliance

For the first time major medical institutions - including the Royal Colleges of Nursing, Paediatrics, Physicians, and General Practitioners - will be coming together to discuss air pollution and climate change.

We will hear from leading experts on how to align action on air pollution and climate change in a way that is beneficial to health. With keynote presentations and a panel discussion from a range of speakers, including Professor Neena Modi (President of the RCPCH), Professor Frank Kelly (Chair of the Government’s Committee on the Medical Effects of Air Pollution), and Dr Fiona Godlee (Editor in Chief of the BMJ). Discussions will be followed by the opportunity to ask questions and an evening reception.

The event will also see the launch of the report ‘A Breath of Fresh Air’ from the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change. The Health Alliance brings together the UK’s leading health institutions, representing some 600,000 healthcare professionals, including many of the Royal Medical and Nursing Colleges, Faculties, medical journals, and Associations.
