In the lead-up to COP26 (scheduled to be held in Glasgow (UK) from 1-12 November 2021), ministries of health and governments are encouraged to declare their ambitions to both decarbonise and improve the resilience of their healthcare sectors.

The COP26 Presidency is working with the UNFCCC Climate Champions, the World Health Organization, and Health Care Without Harm to build this initiative.

The commitments sought are public, non-binding statements that each government would make at a ministerial level on behalf of their respective health sectors. It is a declaration of ambition to their population rather than the partners of the initiative.
